Mount Rainier National Park, Washington, USA

This park (950 km 2 ) is located around Mt. Rainier, a 4392 metre tall volcano. The lower slopes are covered by lush temperate rainforests which are mainly in their natural condition 1 . Annual precipitation is approx. 2000 mm. There are 31 tree species in the park 2 . Camping is allowed throughout the forest.
