Betula pubescens var. pumila (arctic downy birch). Shrub-like J. communis. Gutulia National Park, Norway.
Shrub-like J. communis in a stand of Betula pendula (silver birch, 2., 4. and 5. trunk from left) and Populus tremula (common aspen, the other grey trunks). Also Picea abies (Norway spruce, background). Pyhä-Häkki National Park, Finland, at 165 m.
